Dave McTiernan, Head of Football and Sporting Academy

Dave McTiernan

Since founding T6 Football Academy, I have been proud to guide and develop countless players, many of whom have progressed to professional and semi-professional football careers. My journey in football began at one of the country’s top academies, Middlesbrough Football Club, where I was part of the coaching team responsible for nurturing talents such as Premier League defender Ben Gibson and current Boro star Dael Fry.

Alongside my extensive coaching experience, I have played for leading semi-professional clubs and currently serve as Assistant Manager at Redcar Athletic FC. In this role, I helped lead the team to a league title and we currently sit at the top of the Northern Premier Division.

Player development is my passion; and I am always committed to supporting local talent and helping players reach their full potential on and off the pitch. Football has had an incredibly positive impact on my life and I’m excited to have the opportunity to pass on the lessons and skills I’ve learned to the next generation of players.

Before we get started, let me introduce you to the exceptional team we’ve built here at T6 Football Academy…

James Bridge, T6 Head Coach

James Bridge

An experienced coach who has played a big part in developing local youth players across various age groups, a lot of which have gone on to sign professional contracts, signing scholarships and professional deals.

James has worked with Middlesbrough Football Club’s academy and supported Boro Rangers Football Club in their growth and running of several champion winning sides over numerous years, James has played for professional clubs Newcastle United, Colchester United, Lincoln City and Toronto Lynx as well as semi professional clubs Spennymoor Town and Billingham Synthonia.

James is passionate about passing on his knowledge of the game to young emerging talent.

Josh Mitchell, Strength and Conditioning Coach

Josh Mitchell

His experience on the pitch fuels his commitment to developing the next generation of footballers. Josh believes that strength and conditioning plays a vital role in accelerating young players’ progress and preparing them to make that crucial step up in their football journey.

Over recent years, he has worked with players at every level of the game – from grassroots to elite – and takes great pride in seeing athletes grow both physically and mentally. For Josh, there’s nothing more rewarding than helping footballers become stronger, faster and more confident in their pursuit of success.

Andy Campbell, T6 Football Coach

Andy Campbell

Andy has a wealth of football knowledge after playing the game at the highest level and is excited to be passing on his experiences to the next generation.

A lightning-fast striker, Andy was just 16 when Bryan Robson handed him his debut for hometown club Middlesbrough, appearing alongside Juninho in a 3-1 Premier League win against Sheffield Wednesday.

He played in the same England U21 side as Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand, and achieved legendary status after a £1m move to Cardiff City when he scored the only goal in the Second Division play-off final against QPR.

A popular figure in Teesside footballing circles, Andy is the current Director of Football at Thornaby Football club, working with both mens and womens sections within the club.
